How to opt out yourself

- Search your name on the main TruePeopleSearch site first. Open the listing that matches you and copy that listing's URL.
- Paste the URL into the removal form and enter an email address.
- Complete any verification prompt on the form.
- Open the confirmation email and click the verification link. Do this promptly, since the link can expire. Your request is not processed until you click it.
- Check back after a few days to confirm the listing is gone.
- Search your name again and repeat for any duplicate listings. TruePeopleSearch often holds more than one record for the same person, tied to different prior addresses.
What TruePeopleSearch knows about you
TruePeopleSearch shows a full personal record for free, with no login and no credit card. Search a name and one page returns the current address, prior addresses, phone numbers, relatives, and known associates. The site runs on ad revenue, not subscriptions, so it is built to hand over a complete result as fast as possible.
Why it matters if you're on the job
Because it is free and open, TruePeopleSearch is often the first place someone looks up where you live. Sites that charge a fee or require an account filter out casual searchers. This one does not. Anyone with your name can pull your home address in seconds.
There is a second problem. Reporting by Krebs on Security found that TruePeopleSearch and its sibling FastPeopleSearch were registered through servers in China and each fronts a separate persona that could not be verified as a real person. Your home address sits on a site with no accountable operator to hold responsible if a removal request is ignored.
The relative and associate listings extend the exposure to your family. TruePeopleSearch links you to people who have shared an address with you, including a spouse, a parent, or an adult child. Their listings point back to you, so removing only your own record still leaves you reachable through theirs.
How to opt out
Removal is free and usually takes effect within a few days. The step that trips people up is the confirmation email: your request is not processed until you click the verification link, and the link can expire, so open it promptly.

How long until you're back
Removals do not hold permanently. TruePeopleSearch rebuilds records from public data, and it shares data with FastPeopleSearch, so a new listing on one can pull your record back onto the other. Fresh records tend to appear after a move, when new address data enters the system. The reappearance window varies. Our roughly three-month estimate is a planning figure, not a guarantee: some records return within weeks, others hold longer.

Each site is fronted by a separate persona that could not be verified as a real person: TruePeopleSearch's named founder, 'Marilyn Gaskell,' and FastPeopleSearch's HR manager, 'Sally Stevens,' whose profile photo was traced to an Adobe stock image. That opacity matters for removals: if the standard opt-out fails, there is no accountable operator to escalate to.
