What PeopleFinders knows about you
PeopleFinders is one of the older mainstream people-search sites, run by Confi-Chek out of Sacramento. Standard data set — name, current address, prior addresses, relatives, age, phone numbers. The free preview shows the basics; the paid report adds court records and contact info. Sources are public records and commercial broker feeds.
Why it matters if you're on the job
PeopleFinders is in the second tier of people-search visibility — not the household name Spokeo is, but trafficked enough that an adversary searching your name can land here. Same exposure profile.
The slug-confusion problem matters here. PeopleFinders (with an "s") and PeopleFinder (no "s") are two different sites with two different opt-outs. Officers who file one and call it done usually find the other one still has them on it.
How to opt out
Standard search-claim-verify-by-email flow. Steps in optOutSteps above. Note that PeopleFinder (singular, no s) is a separate site requiring its own opt-out.
How long until you're back
Six months typical. Re-builds from public records and broker feeds.
What we do that's faster
We file PeopleFinders and PeopleFinder opt-outs together since the slugs are easily confused, then re-check both every two weeks. We file Whitepages and the four PeopleConnect sites in the same week.
Doing this for one broker is straightforward. Doing it for 200, on a continuous basis, is what we do.
