Why a PBA plan

PBAs already negotiate the benefits members rely on. Privacy protection fits the same model — collective coverage, billed to the local, free at point of use for members. Members don't sign individual contracts or manage individual subscriptions; they get coverage as part of the package they already paid dues for.

For NJ PBAs, the Daniel's Law leverage is real and underused at the local level. (Daniel's Law is the NJ statute that lets covered officers sue brokers for failing to remove their home address.) We file the demands on members' behalf so the local doesn't carry the operational burden.
