What US Search collects

How to opt out yourself

  2. Search your name. Identify your record.
  3. Provide an email address.
  4. Click the verification link in the email within 24 hours.
  5. Allow 7-10 business days for the listings to drop across all five sites.

What US Search knows about you

US Search is one of the older PeopleConnect properties — it's been in the people-search business since the late 1990s. The historical depth shows up in the data: prior addresses going back further than typical brokers, sometimes 25-30 years. The paid report adds court records, traffic citations, neighbors, and a relatives list.

Why it matters if you're on the job

For sworn officers and other long-career first responders, US Search's deep address history is a particular concern. An adversary searching your name can find addresses from your academy years, your first marriage, the apartment you lived in 20 years ago. All tied to your current name.
