How to opt out yourself

- Enter an email address and click the verification link it sends. The link expires quickly, so act on it promptly.
- Search your name and select the record that is yours.
- Set the matching listings to suppressed and submit.
- Allow up to 10 business days for the listings to drop across the PeopleConnect family of sites.
What PeopleConnect knows about you
PeopleConnect runs a family of people-search sites off one shared data backend. Confirmed brands include Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, ZabaSearch, US Search, Classmates.com, and PublicRecords.com. Same data, different consumer-facing labels.
A single search of your name across these sites can return your current and prior addresses, phone numbers, approximate age and date of birth, relatives and household members, and court or criminal records. Anyone can buy the full report for a few dollars.
Ownership in this market moves around. Brands get merged, renamed, and divested, so the exact list of sites the central tool covers changes over time. Confirm the covered-sites list before you rely on one filing.
Why it matters if you're on the job
For a police officer, firefighter, or EMS medic, one of these profiles ties your name to your home address and the people who live there. Someone you arrested, cited, or testified against can find where you live in a few clicks, and find your spouse, your kids, and your parents on the same page.
Because the data is shared across the portfolio, a listing you suppress on one PeopleConnect site can still surface on the others until the central request clears them.
How to opt out
The central suppression tool is at suppression.peopleconnect.us. One request suppresses your profile across the PeopleConnect family. The steps are listed above. Verification is by email link, and the link expires quickly, so click it soon after you request it.
Two limits to know. Suppression hides your profile from search results but does not necessarily delete the underlying data, so records can reappear. And brands outside the PeopleConnect family carry overlapping data, so one filing here does not cover your full broker footprint.
How long until you're back
Records suppressed through people-search sites tend to resurface once the underlying data refreshes, often within a matter of months. Treat the opt-out as maintenance, not a one-time fix.
What we do

Who owns it
H.I.G. Capital portfolio company. H.I.G. acquired Intelius (and its parent Inome Inc.) and Classmates.com in 2015, forming PeopleConnect. In January 2020, PubRec LLC (parent of TruthFinder and Instant Checkmate) merged into PeopleConnect in a deal brokered by Livingstone Partners. Headquartered in the Seattle area.

PeopleConnect removed the state action to federal court in March 2024. The federal case terminated in November 2024, and the state docket MON-L-000484-24 continues as the operative forum. The federal complaint named PeopleConnect Inc., Intelius LLC, PeopleConnect Intermediate LLC, and PeopleConnect Holdings Inc., with PCHI Parent Inc. identified as corporate parent.
